Exicting Times

As the headline says, this month is pretty exciting.

Jenn and I celebrated our 2 year wedding anniversary this last weekend. We headed out to Las Vegas because we had never been there together and decided it might be fun. Lesson learned: Vegas is hot in the summer. We tried to stay indoors as much as possible but still ended up getting heat stroke. On Saturday night it was still over 100 degrees after 9:30! That's over two hours after the sun went down. We both had a good time though despite the heat.

The trip back got kinda crazy though. We got about 30 miles past state line and started to smell gasoline in the car. I didn't think that the air conditioner was near any fuel so I assumed it was another car on the road. I sped up to pass everyone and we were still smelling the gas. Being in the middle of nowhere we started to get really nervous because to many horror films start this way. We pulled off at the first gas station (which didn't have a mechanic) and I opened up the car to see if I could track down the culprit. I didn't notice any fuel leaks and couldn't smell gasoline anywhere on the engine. I checked under the car and there was no gas on the ground either. So we decided to go on to Baker and if we were still having problems we would find a mechanic there. Once on the road again there was no gas smell. We decided to try and make it to Barstow then and see if the smell would come back and it didn't until we slowed down for traffic which didn't last long so we gunned it for home. So there is definately something wrong with my car but we were able to make it home safelty, thank God.

Monday we went out to dinner to celebrate the actual day. I put a review of the restaurant on my food blog (foodb) if you want to know more about where we went and what we got. Dinner was very nice and Jenn surprised me with tickets to see the Packers/Chargers game next month. I really have a cool wife who doesn't care much for football but will still go out and do things like that. I love you Jenn and thank you one more time.

This weekend is my 10th trip to the annual Comic-Con down in San Diego. I can't believe it's been 11 years since I started going to the Con and I'm still just as excited this time around as I was the first time. This year I am on a budget so I won't be eating out as much and buying only things I have planned on buying. Also this year marks the second time that we have had 5 people going (this is the first time all 5 are staying in the same room too). Should be fun and I will definately have pictures posted soon. I don't know if I can top the picture with Weird Al but supposedly Flavor Flav is going to be there with the rest of Public Enemy. Should eb a blast.

A Letter To My Husband

Saying I love you can sometimes just be way too easy, so I wanted to write you this letter and instead of saying I love you, I would like to say…

I honor you: I honor you for being the man of this family and taking charge of situations that I am too weak to sometimes handle. And I honor you for being so self-sacrificial in every decision you make to better this family of ours.

I respect you: I respect you and all your important decisions that you make on a daily basis and you’re hard work to support this family.

I cherish you: I cherish the way you sometimes look at me and the way you smile at me, especially in those moments you don’t quite understand me.

I value you: I value your uniqueness and your quirky ways that sometimes make me shake my head but nonetheless I still value the words you say and those quirky ways.

I treasure you: I treasure those moments we have together that are sometimes quiet or sometimes chaotic but I wouldn’t change them for the world. Every chance I get with you I treasure and I take a photo of in my mind.

I depend on you: I depend on you to be my other half and to always walk side by side with me through our lives.

I adore you: I adore you is a word that is greater than love itself, I love you to my fullest capacity and strength, so much that I could almost burst.

I am committed to you: I commit my heart and soul to you, to always be there by your side in good times and in bad times. I am committed to always honoring, respecting, cherishing, valuing, treasuring, depending and adoring you.

Happy Anniversary Honey, I Love You!
