FINE... GO AHEAD & LAUGH!

OK, here’s the thing… Gordon and I have been trying now for a year to have a baby. Just recently, last month that is, we underwent a traumatic time in our lives. I was rushed to the hospital with stomach pains only to find out that we were having a miscarriage. I really didn’t tell anyone because the emotional pain was just way too heavy to deal with and it was a very long story of actually everything that took place. But I have good news that I am back in high spirits, I know that the Lord has His good and perfect will for my life and I will indeed be a mother, because the Lord knows that is my hearts desire.

So with that put out of the way… after I went through all of that, I realized how unprepared Gordon and I really were at this moment and started re-prioritizing our lives and among that reminiscing about childhood. I came to find out that my mother had lost or misplaced or may have even given away my collection of dolls from when I was a kid, and my friend Jeni can be a witness to how many freakin dolls I had. My most prized dolls were my collection of Strawberry Shortcakes and I was so sad and so bummed to find out they were gone.

So I started hanging out on eBay and guess what… they sell them on eBay… and the vintage ones too, from when I was a kid! So what did your little Woody do? well, I went and bought one. They are going for $30.00 a pop but it is well worth the childhood memories. I still get just as excited as I did as a kid when I see these things.

At first I thought Gordon would be upset but then I started looking around at these stacks and stacks of boxes we have out in our garage and it hit me… almost all these boxes were his and they were filled with toys… Star Wars, Spawn, he has the whole set of the Simpsons almost, and he is still buying and collecting, so he had absolutely no leverage on me. If he complains about my once a month buy on Vintage Strawberry Shortcake dolls, I will just gladly take him by the hand and show him his stacked boxes of action figures in the garage. I have no complaints about his stuff… I actually love them, I love toys, he has made me into a collecting, Comic-Con Geek and I have no complaints.

Plumbing Foo'

On Monday I was taking a shower and started noticing that the water was going down slowly. I opened up the drain and there was a wad of hair almost as big as Abi. Well, taking out that chunk of hair apparently cause a cascade effect because once I pulled it the drain stopped up completely and I got the bonus of taking a bath with my shower.

So off to Lowes I go to get Drano and after inspecting several bottles I can't help but notice the bottle on the bottom shelf. It was a black bottle and the thing that caught my attention was the fact that it was in a protective plastic bag. Now I'm thinking "that's gotta be some good shit" and start reading what the it is in between the 800 poison and warning labels. Low and behold it's sulfuric acid for unclogging drains. This is the stuff in chemistry class you would have to wear all kinds off protective clothing to use so I just have to have this now.

So I take it home in the process of 2 days end up killing everything inside of the drain as well as a few whales that will get a whiff of this stuff when it drains to the ocean. It was pretty fun to use though because it sizzled when it hit the water in the drain. I could just see the conversation of my wife explaining to the firemen why her husband exploded in the bathroom "he said he got some awesome stuff and then I heard a loud pop".

The Best Italian Restaurant!

OK, Gordon and I found the best Italian Restaurant I think in Orange County, if you know better please tell me because for the food and the price this is exquisite! They hand make all their pasta noodles there in the restaurant so you don't get that chewyness or that heavy feeling in your stomach like you would from other places because of the preservatives in their noodles.

The meals all come with bread dipped in extra virgin olive oil and such sweet Balsamic vinegar you could drink it straight, the soup of the month and a salad.

I was rather iffy about the soup because it was a carrot soup, basically puree but it was so good, it was sweet, light in taste and the aftertaste of pine nuts and nutmeg in your mouth was so warm and pleasant. I ordered the Cannelloni, which is like an Italian enchilada, and it came with two sauces, a sweet tomato meat sauce and a Gorgonzola cream sauce, again, most heavenly.

Gordon is taking me there again tonight; we are going to make it there once a month just so we can try everything on the menu. If you guys are ever in Huntington Beach you will have to try this place.
