California or Bust!

Some of you may know and some of you may not know but about a month or two ago, Gordon and I were talking and he shared with me that he was homesick, I shared with him that I was going through the same thing. We started praying about if we should move back or not and we were so confused about everything and didn't know what in the world to do. We were basically weighing beauty against friends and family. I came up with the idea for us to go out to California for Super Bowl so he could be with his friends and suggested we apply for only a couple of jobs. We have been looking for over a year and a half here and nothing, not even phone calls for us and we turn in like over 50 resumes a week and nothing, so I suggested we apply for only a few jobs down in California and if we got just one phone call we would know the Lord wanted us to move back down. So, we did just that and headed out to California on Monday before the Super Bowl. While we were driving through Fresno I got a phone call for a job interview in Orange County. After the phone call we decided for certain that we were moving back to Orange County.

I was really worried that I would have that defeated feeling like we couldn't make it up here but neither one of us do. We both feel a tremendous peace about the whole thing. I don't feel like moving up here was a mistake, I feel like it was a total blessing and meant to be. We had a wedding for hardly any money at all but it was beautiful and we got to define ourselves as a couple without the influence of friends and family, it was such a great experience. I have to say that I am sad and will miss this place but I really do want to be with my friends and family, especially if we have kids, it is so important to us.

So Gordon and I are planning on being back down in a month, so we really look forward to seeing all of you and spending our days with you all once again.

Yeah! I knew you guys would snap out of it. That was one long Honeymoon. I'm glad you're coming back home!
